I'm not entirely sure this is a joke, but it's not April, so I'll give Mediapost a pass on this one. Apparently, Hard Rock Café is opening a new restaurant chain called Pink Taco, which is hilarious by itself. To be the agency of record for Pink Taco...swoon. But it gets better: Pink Taco made a bid to buy the naming rights to the University of Phoenix Stadium in 2006.
Kneel, University of Phoenix Stadium, and arise, Pink Taco Park.
I question what Hard Rock Café is doing here, launching a restaurant chain that, at the very least, makes it look stupid for not doing the requisite research into the possible implications for the restaurant chain's name. But then to take that name and put it on something huge like a stadium...it takes balls (or ovaries...whichever). I haven't done the math, but I'm guessing Hard Rock Café's authority to publish hilarious euphemisms for female genitalia on massive sports complexes is nonexistent. Just a guess.
