Deutschland, Deutschland: ich liebe dich. Your Züge are punctual. Your Bier is perfect. And your advertising firms are very…post-advertise-y.
At least one agency, Jung von Matt, is doing something fascinating. For its client, Sixt—a car-rental agency—it's found a way to deliver a message in the country's major airports, where ads are more prevalent than Fußball fans:
The idea warms my little, post-advertising heart. These days, traditional forms of advertising aren't reaching the audience, because the audience is tuning most of the advertising world out. Thankfully, the world is starting to catch on. Here, the agency realized it couldn't bombard the audience with more visual pollution; instead, it provides something useful with the message attached. You know, there is a German word for "effective in advertising": werbewirksam. I think Sixt and Jung von Matt can drink to that. Prost.
