A modest announcement about award-winning work
A modest announcement about award-winning work

Now, I did tell you that we'd be talking a bit more about Story Worldwide, but it isn't going to be all self-congratulatory and back-slappy. Apart from this post, and the one about Lexus that will come in a bit....

We won an award on Wednesday evening – the APA Effectiveness award for “Digital Publishing Solution of the Year” – for Oasis. Find out why:

We have worked with Oasis for a while – we designed the core site as well – but they wanted to get more personal with their customers. We settled on a blog, designed and set up by us, populated and published by Oasis staff. We thought it would develop a few good links and make the site a bit more interesting and involving. In fact, it immediately drove massive traffic. This traffic converted better (17% better) and spent more (14% more) than traffic from other sources.

The biggest hurdle that we had in developing the blog was making everyone feel comfortable with publishing. To Oasis’s credit, after testing for a month or so, they took to it with aplomb.

I have to give a hat-tip to ASOS’s facebook page, a shining example of how to use a facebook page to add value.

Finally, I don’t know whether it was our typo or the APA’s typo, but somehow “conversion to sale” became “conversation to sale”. I’ll be using that in future.
